O2 - Materials for HEI authorities
The publication addressed to the HEIs authorities was prepared on the basis of research results contained in O1, as well as the results of desk research conducted in each of the countries participating in the project.
Each of the partners carried out research in their country to determine the key elements of the strategy for effectively motivating HEIs’ employees to actively engage in international activities.
Each of the partners has chosen about 5 HEIs in their country (Cyprus only 3 as there is not many universities, Slovenia took into account universities but also Faculties as at university of Ljubljana, each faculty operates separately), whose employees are very active in international activities (based on university internationalization rankings). At first step partners discussed which rankings will be taken into consideration – so that to have one criterion of selection of universities.
Next step was to decide about questions to be asked. Each expert prepared his/her preferable questions in 2 main areas:
Questions concerning the best working ways and tools to motivate employees to participate in international activities:
Questions about the biggest obstacles and difficulties and motivation
Having complete list of proposed questions, experts review them and prepared final list of questions.
Next, partners decided who will be interviewed. Conclusion was that 2 persons in which university – one from the authorities (if agrees) and 1 responsible for internationalization process at given university/faculty.
Each expert did his/her interviews in the most suitable way – some via emails, some during personal meetings, some on the phone.
After doing interviews, each expert prepared his national part of publication – according to prepared template and send it to main expert responsible for preparation of whole publication.
Portuguese experts were responsible for reading through the whole materials sent by other experts and gather them into one main publication.

6 Recommendations for the management of HEIs
Publication is be translated into each national languages and uploaded into project website as well as disseminated in all project countries and beyond.
